all quiet

October 15, 2006

Its been over a month since Julian and I have even seen each other, let alone worked on the car. He came over tonight and we had a bit of a chat about it, what needs to be done and what we’re going to do about it.

Julian’s found an old Regatta nearby for $500, hopefully we can get it even cheaper than that and nick the gearbox out of it.  We might be lucky and score a decent engine and larger brakes as well.  We’re going for a look on Tuesday I think. Will keep you posted.

Apart from that the project has hit a twice-annual hurdle of “crunch time at uni”. We’re both pretyt busy but in the next month or so progress will once again become steady. We hope!

    Hi Dino,

Our fiberglass comes from a guy we know who’s been racing X1/9s for a long time now. He used to run a shop that specialised in them, and we met him through the Fiat Car Club of Victoria. Great to hear that you’re going to restore your cars. Let us know how it goes!

    Cheers, Dave
